Week of 4/20/20
Welcome to the "new" first day of school!

Note:
Communication will now be through Schoology.  Please access your Schoology account first.  Links to the website (if needed) will be through Schoology.  This is a District directive.

We will begin on the 21st with an Introduction to 555 Timers.  Look for videos and instruction on Schoology.
There will also be a short 5 question quiz on the 555 specification.

Week of 4/27/20
We will be starting our section on the Monostable 555 Timer.  There are a few videos that you need to watch, a few posts and a quiz.  Please pay attention to due dates!  Use your time wisely!

Assignments are posted on Schoology.

Online Activities
Hope everyone is well!  Here we go!

As promised I have found an online simulator.  It's actually by MultiSim.  I have created a few circuits and it will do what we need at this time.  You also have the option to find a student version of MultiSim for your own computer.  The lessons that we cover for the next 3 weeks will be demonstrated using the online version.

You can find the online version at: https://www.multisim.com/
You will have to create an account.  You DO NOT NEED the premium version!

I will have a quick tutorial soon.  In the mean time please create an account and familiarize yourself with the program.

Here we go!
3/30/2020

We will begin with some notes I put together on Power Supplies followed by the description and construction of a Halfwave rectifier. (which is the beginning of a power supply)
There are 3 short instructional videos to watch.  Answer the questions in the notes the best you can.

Notes:
Understanding Power Supplies
Halfwave Rectifiers

Understanding Power Supplies
Halfwave Rectifiers
Halfwave Rectifiers (Part 2)

3/31/2020
The videos above were meant to give you an introduction to how we begin to design a power supply.  Below are two more short videos that will then led us into the full construction of a power supply over the next two days.

Videos:
Fullwave Rectifiers
Bridge Rectifiers

ALSO
Tomorrow we will be connecting through a Zoom conference.  Let's just touch base quickly and answer any questions.   You will be able to access the meeting via Schoology.  I will post the link under Discussions under your particular class.

The schedule will be as follows:

4th Hour - 10:00am  (4/1/2020)
5th Hour - 10:30am  (4/1/2020)

See you tomorrow!

Well for 5th hour that did not turn out as expected.  I am so sorry!  We were hacked at the beginning of our meeting and I turned it off as soon as I could.

The next two days spend some time on the videos understanding how we are creating the DC source.

4/3/2020
DC Sources using Zeners

4/4/2020
Adjustable DC Power Supplies

4/13/2020
Hope everyone is healthy and doing well.
As your final assignment on Power Supplies I would like you to design a single power supply circuit that has the ability of supplying 3 separate voltages.  3V, 5V and 9V.  Hint, use Zeners!  (that's a big hint)  Do your best.  We will have a Zoom call on Wednesday to discuss.  Look for info in the call tomorrow.

4/15/2020
Call today at 11:00 and 12:00.  Please look at schoology for the links.
USE YOUR CORRECT NAME OR I WILL NOT LET YOU IN.
