Thanks to all who joined the Zoom meetings. I hope it clarified things that are happening. You will continue to receive information from the district.
For those not on the call.....
The districts directive is that all seniors finish their senior year. For my Mech and Eng students that simply means to complete your Capstone Project. The requirements are as follows:
I will also plan for some "updates". I'm thinking of using Flipgrid for them. I am told they are quick and easy to use.

Communication will now be through Schoology. Please access your Schoology account first. Links to the website (if needed) will be through Schoology. This is a District directive.
Through Schoology you will be asked to give an update of your project using Flipgrid. Not sure how often. Look for those directions!

Update:
Until today the district did not want CTE to assign/publish any work so students could concentrate on their core 4. I'm just checking in with my Seniors. If you have any questions please email them to me. Please make them relevant. I have answered some great questions so far. Continue working on the assignments above. Not sure what the year holds but I miss being with my Seniors. They are the highlight of my day. Hope you are all doing well and continuing to work on your Senior project. Take Care!

Tomorrow I will do a Zoom conference with each Senior class. You will be able to access the meeting via Schoology. I will post the link under Discussions under your particular class.
The schedule will be as follows:
2nd Hour Seniors at 9:00am (4/1/2020)
3rd Hour Seniors at 9:30am (4/1/2020)

So 23 of my 52 seniors made it out of bed for our meeting. Maybe I should make the next meeting at 7:45am?
It was nice seeing the faces that I did. Keep working on those projects!

I hope you are all healthy and doing well.
I have received a few emails with questions about your Capstone projects.
Personally I do believe, as most of you can guess, in finishing strong and finishing what you started. Many of you have contacted me about finishing your project. I can't tell you how happy that makes me feel. Given that, I would encourage you all to finish your Capstone Projects the best you can. I realize you may not have all the resources that you need. That's ok, do something else, figure it out! Create something you can have pride in. You never now how it may help later in your career. An interview, a project in college. Expanding your knowledge is always a good thing.
That all being said, I would like to set up a Zoom meeting to discuss the expectations. It will be short and to the point. All seniors need to participate. If you have no desire to finish your project please do not waste the time of those that do. Do not join the call. Likewise to those who just want to make a mockery of the call. Don't join and waste others time.

For those not on the call.....
The districts directive is that all seniors finish their senior year. For my Mech and Eng students that simply means to complete your Capstone Project. The requirements are as follows:
- Complete the Capstone Project. Due to material constraints, not able to get into the classroom, it does not have to be the original project you proposed. Look at what you have to work with and figure something out. Make it challenging and fun. Make it something you could use as a prop in an interview. Make it something your proud of.
- A video of the project must be uploaded to YouTube no later than MAY 8th. Use the hashtags in the original documentation from the Nature Site. Please email when you have uploaded the video especially if you upload it early.
- Your binder is no longer a requirement but I highly recommend finishing it and using it in interviews you may have for internships/jobs. I shared in the call how my son used an engineering binder he created on a project for an internship and it was a game changer.
- Your industry contact evaluation is is longer a requirement but again I highly recommend you use that resource when creating/building you project.
I will also plan for some "updates". I'm thinking of using Flipgrid for them. I am told they are quick and easy to use.
